1. Eligibility

The Summer Open is an individual competition.  Golfers of all skill levels, genders and ages are welcome to participate.

2. Competition Format

The Summer Open is a 9-week individual net stroke play competition played on Trackman.

Weeks 1 and 2 establish each player's Trackman handicap and do not count toward the standings.

Weeks 3 through 9 are scoring weeks. Each player's best five (5) of seven (7) scoring rounds will determine their final standing.

3. Weekly  Schedule

The Summer Open begins July 13, 2026.

Participants receive one 60-minute competition round each week through their Summer Open membership. New rounds become available each Monday and may be completed any time through Sunday.

Rounds may not be booked or played in advance. Unused rounds do not carry forward.

4. Handicaps

Weeks 1 and 2 are used to establish each player's official Trackman handicap.

Tee assignments are determined by each player's Trackman profile and remain fixed for the duration of the competition.

5. Missed Weeks

Each weekly round must be completed during its assigned competition week.

One (1) approved make-up round is permitted during the season. Players must email swingteam@theswingrefinery.com before the missed week ends or no later than the start of the following competition week.

Unused weekly rounds do not automatically carry forward.

6. Competition Settings

All rounds must be played using the designated course, 9-hole routing, tees, and competition settings established by The Swing Refinery.

Competition settings may not be modified.

7. Course Setup

Each week will feature a designated TrackMan course and 9-hole routing. All players will play the same assigned course and nine holes — front or back — for that week.

Tee selection is based on each player’s TrackMan profile settings and will remain standardized for fair and competitive play.

10. Sportsmanship

All participants are expected to maintain a friendly and respectful environment. The Swing Refinery reserves the right to remove participants who violate league rules or disrupt play.

11. Pace of Play

Each competition round is scheduled for one hour.

Players are expected to maintain an appropriate pace of play to complete all 9 holes within their allotted time. Additional simulator time required to finish a round must be purchased separately.

12. Simulator or Technical Issues

In the event of a simulator or technical malfunction, The Swing Refinery will determine an appropriate solution, which may include replaying a shot, assigning a reasonable score, or restarting the hole.

All rulings related to technical issues are final and intended to keep league play fair and on schedule.

13. Scoring Integrity

All competition rounds must be completed using the designated course, tees, and settings established by The Swing Refinery.

The Swing Refinery reserves the right to review, adjust, or disqualify scores that are determined to be inaccurate, manipulated, or inconsistent with competition rules.

FAQ's

Do I need to be a member of The Swing Refinery. No, Summer Open participants receive the access needed to complete their weekly competition rounds throughout the season.

Do I need an official handicap/GHIN? No. An official handicap is not required. If you do not already have a Trackman handicap, weeks 1 & 2 will be used to establish a league handicap.

Can I book my round 24/7 even if I'm not a member? Yes. Your Summer Open participation includes the access needed to book and complete your weekly competition round at any available time. Additional simulator time outside of your competition must be purchased separately and is subject to standard visitor or member booking policies.

Can I play future weeks in advance? No. Competition rounds are released weekly and become available each Sunday. Future rounds cannot be booked or played before they are released.

What happens if I miss a week? Participants may request one make-up round during the season. Any round not completed by the season deadline will receive a score of double par for each unplayed hole.

How is my handicap established? If you don't already have a Trackman handicap, your two opening rounds establish your handicap for season competition. That handicap will be used for scoring throughout the Summer Open.

Do unused rounds carry over? No. Competition rounds are released weekly and must be completed during the designated competition period. Unused rounds do not automatically carry forward.

How are prizes awarded? Twenty-five percent (25%) of all registration fees are returned as prizes and awards. Prize distribution may include season standings, weekly competitions, and bonus challenges.

What if I need more than one hour to finish my round? One hour is typically sufficient to complete a 9-hole competition round. If additional time is needed, players may purchase additional simulator time at standard rates.

What if the simulator experiences a technical issue during my round? The Swing Refinery will determine an appropriate resolution, which may include replaying a shot, assigning a reasonable score, or restarting a hole. All rulings related to technical issues are final.
